The network between state institutions and diaspora

The Kosovar Minister of Diaspora, Mr Ibrahim Makolli, met with his counterparts from a delegation of Albania – ministers, heads of departments, assistants and consultants as well as representatives from the office of Albania’s Prime-minister. During the meeting, Mr. Makolli presented the work and the future strategy achievements of the Ministry of Diaspora .
A special emphasis was put on the Strategy for Diaspora 2013-2018 as well as the Action Plan, the creation of inter-linkages and networks between state institutions and diaspora. Other relevant actions such as preservation of cultural identity, integration and reintegration, language learning classes, support and logistics to the diaspora investments in Kosovo, we discussed.
Isues that require immediate attention are: heightened cooperation among Albanian and Kosovar institutions, coherence among country plans in order to best serve citizens abroad, language learning classes for diaspora, network creation among Diaspora organizations. Furthermore, regular meetings among Albanian and Kosovar state representatives for better coordination and gathering of information and data on bettering Diaspora service is needed. The central idea has been coordination of policy making for advancement of the Albanian diaspora at host countries and countries of origin.
